Nigel has become what he claims to despise. Meanwhile, my own interest and participation has nothing to do with whether I think Robert Cote is an angel. I have occasionally disagreed strongly with Cote, but who cares? I'm glad nobody was injured by his crime, and I strongly suspect he learned his lesson. I have driven drunk a handful of times (4?), all foolish. One time I was stopped by police and told my high beam lights were on in the city. That's a crime, I guess. That's as far as it went, because I answered the leading questions without introducing alcohol into the discussion. Anyway, it's stupid. Nobody disputes it's stupid to drive drunk.
I track about 14 "Casey blogs" where the delicious topics are Casey and Nigel. Nigel's ego has seduced him into making so many strategic errors that it's fair to categorize him as "internet-inept" just like our beloved snowflake. The contrasts between them are interesting, but so are the parallels: Both think they can benefit by controlling perceptions. That's the gasoline of internet drama, an ego-based psychological problem Cote does not demonstrate. Who can we depend on for innumerable antics like this? Swaby and Serin. Who can we count on to be the clearinghouse of laughter? Cote. This doesn't boil down to criminality to me. I'm here for the laughs.
